ePlanning launchedNSW’s new planning website is now online. Inspired by best practice international systems from the UK, Canada and Copenhagen, the ePlanning website integrates a suite of tools and brings the planning system to computers, smartphones and tablets. The Property Council has strongly supported the development of the ePlanning site and welcomes its launch. A modern approach to integrating information, the ePlanning portal centralises state and local planning for local areas across the State, outlines planning rules and controls for local sites, and provides online lodgement and tracking of development applications. It allows users to view properties in 3D and find out what can be undertaken as exempt development and under the electronic housing code. The ePlanning website will simplify the planning system and make it user friendly; streamline data and policies across the planning system; and reduce costs for development applications by providing relevant information up front.
