Energy Legislation Review Submission

The Property Council of Australia has provided feedback on the Queensland Government’s Review of Queensland’s Energy Legislation: Issues Paper, which examines the Electricity Act 1994, the Gas Supply Act 2003 and the Water Ombudsman Act 2006. 

While expressing support for the review, the Property Council has advocated for legislation that provides long term stability, underpinned by reliable, affordable and sustainable objectives. 

The submission also supports reforms such as the National Energy Guarantee (NEG) and the National Energy Customer Service Framework (NECF), which aim to eradicate overlaps and ensure national consistency. 

The Property Council will continue working with Government to ensure the best regulatory framework is in place.
