Employment boost in Western SydneyThe Property Council of Australia says the government’s decision to expand dedicated employment lands in Western Sydney to leverage links to the new airport at Badgerys Creek will help boost employment numbers. The NSW Government has confirmed it will add 4357 hectares to the proposed Western Sydney Employment Area.NSW executive director Glenn Byres said the decision to proceed with a second Sydney airport at Badgerys Creek has given the market, investors and tenants the clarity they have been seeking. “The challenge is to move swiftly to complete structure plans, undertake rezonings, set a schedule for infrastructure delivery and ensure jobs and investment begin to flow,” said Byres.”We need to keep driving investment in Western Sydney given the region is facing a jobs deficit of 200,000 and forecast to grow higher,” he said.
