Emma Plasier takes out 2016 Rising Generation AwardCongratulations to Emma Plasier, Principal/Director at Shine Retirement, for taking out the 2016 Rising Generation Award for outstanding achievements by new and young talent in the retirement living sector.Emma established Shine Retirement in September 2015 after working in social housing and in business development for a village operator.Emma’s vision for Shine Retirement was to provide a service to help seniors navigate the sometimes-complex transition to retirement living by helping them understand the market and then guiding them in finding the “best-fit” retirement living option relative to their needs, wants and budget. Her concept has been enthusiastically embraced by clients and village operators alike, and now Shine Retirement provides additional services such as introductions to lawyers, real estate agents and financial planners, and even assisting in the coordination of removalists.Emma’s creativity, innovation and ability to positively impact the lives of prospective village residents were all scored very highly by the Rising Generation Award judges.Emma received her award in front of more than 400 industry leaders at the National Retirement Living Summit from award sponsor Ingenia Communities. Thanks again to Ingenia for their long-term support of the award – without it, we wouldn’t be able to recognise these terrific grassroots achievements and give them the industry exposure they deserve. For winning the award Emma receives an education voucher to further her professional development and a travel voucher to help her enjoy a well-earned break at an Ingenia holiday park.Congratulations again goes to Emma and our two other finalists for 2016, Adam Fahey of Catholic Healthcare and Marcel Batrac of Dee Why RSL.We look forward to running the Rising Generation Award program again in 2017.
