Election platform rolling outThe Property Council has begun briefing critical political leaders on our policy platform for the 2015 NSW State Election.The document was released at our Division Lunch featuring NSW Premier Mike Baird on 7 November 2014.Agenda items include creating a compelling vision for our global city, funding the next-generation infrastructure, planning and local government reform, fairer taxes and strong regions.Since launching alongside the Premier, we have met the Planning, Local Government, Ageing & Illawarra, and Environment Ministers – as well as other ministerial offices.We will also be extending our briefing program further within government, as well as across the political aisle and to the minor parties.”The property industry is crucial to the State’s economy – generating one in 10 jobs and pays over $16 billion in wages to workers and their families,” Property Council NSW Executive Director Glenn Byres said.”Our election platform puts forwards solutions that will enhance the climate for investment, and build a more productive, liveable and sustainable state.”We will be continuing to engage with all policy makers – and keep account of which agenda items they sign up to.”The Property Council has also used key media outlets to reinforce our message.
