Election Digest: Friday Jan 13, 2017

As we enter 2017, we’ve seen all major parties increase their media presence in a bid to win votes ahead of the election in March. Infrastructure has been a major talking point as the Liberals unveiled plans for the partial sale of Western Power while Labor revealed plans to scrap the Perth Freight Link and Roe 8 and better connect suburbs in Perth’s south by building Armadale Road Bridge, linking North Lake and Armadale Roads.

The Property Council has also ramped up our campaigning efforts with a focus on infrastructure, fully certified building permits, and affordable housing choice for seniors.

In recent weeks, the Property Council has been rolling out a heightened media release campaign which to date has gained coverage on the following measures:

Coupled with our ongoing media campaign, our executive team has been hard at work meeting with key politicians and government agencies to outline our plan to keep WA growing. In recent weeks, Lino Iacomella, Alix Rhodes and Chris Palandri have met with Treasurer Mike Nahan; Lands Minister Terry Redman; Planning Minister Donna Faragher; Labor Leader Mark McGowan; and Colin Holt Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Housing.
