Draft Kangaroo Point Neighbourhood Plan sent to State Government
Brisbane City Council has endorsed a draft Kangaroo Point Peninsula neighbourhood plan and submitted it for State Government review, following a period of public consultation in late 2017.
The draft plan seeks to amend the City Plan to:
- Support growth that provides for the needs of the established residential community and which provides leisure and lifestyle opportunities for residents and visitors.
- Facilitate high quality public realm and streetscape improvements in conjunction with new development.
- Enhance pedestrian and cycle links to parks and the Brisbane River.
- Update planning provisions for the neighbourhood plan area.
The Property Council’s submission to the draft plan process focused on connectivity and the strategy’s approach to managing growth and development in Kangaroo Point.
A second period of public consultation is expected in mid-2018, with the adoption and gazette of the final neighbourhood plan expected in early 2019.
