Draft City West Renewal Strategy ReleasedBrisbane City Council’s draft City West Renewal Strategy is now open for public consultation as part of the preparation of the City West Neighbourhood Plan. A copy of the draft strategy can be found here. The key components of the draft City West Renewal Strategy include:facilitating the renewal of iconic heritage places into exciting cultural and social destinationsproviding opportunities for new retail, commercial and community activities to bring life to the historic Victoria Barracks encouraging a greater mix of uses along Caxton Streetproviding opportunity for mixed use development on the Normanby renewal siterevitalising Petrie Terrace into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly streetmaking improvements around Hardgrave Park and Neal Macrossan Parkimproving pedestrian connections linking the CBD, Spring Hill, the Brisbane River and South Brisbaneretaining Petrie Terrace’s established character housing.The consultation period closes at 5pm on Friday 2 October 2015.
