Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria
An independent agency designed to resolve contested building projects on behalf of both builders and homeowners has been launched by the Victorian Government.
Under the free service, trained officers will be paired with independent building experts to mediate disputes relating to domestic buildings works. The Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDR) service will cover all disputes less than 10 years old and those not already (or have ever been) in VCAT proceedings.
The DBDR will be headed by Gina Ralston, the former Director of the Dispute Settlement Centre of Victoria.
For more information about the DBDR’s role and how to lodge an application, visit the Victorian Government website.
