Developer Review 

The Queensland Government have released the much-awaited Developer Review discussion paper.

The discussion paper sets out issues and possible solutions that were raised during the targeted consultation period and outlines 38 options for consideration with a key focus on payment security, health and safety, and building quality.

The Property Council has repeatedly raised concern about the review”s necessity and its potential to have an adverse impact on construction costs, industry confidence and housing affordability.

Feedback is due by December 16, 2022. However, given the delays in the release of the paper, the Property Council will be seeking an extension to the consultation period, to allow for adequate time to collect member feedback on the issues and potential options raised by the discussion paper.
