Delivering on the Deal

A crowd of more than 100 people attended the Property Council’s first Townsville event for 2018  – Delivering on the Deal.

Our keynote speaker Adele Young – CEO, Townsville City Council, provided a comprehensive breakdown of the implementation of the City Deal over its first 12 months, and an overview of the Townsville 2020 master plan.

While the official City Deal 12-month progress report is yet to be released, Adele spoke with the audience about the achievements to date and major milestones this year.

Water infrastructure was highlighted as a key deliverable this year, and the property industry was heartened to hear that the long-anticipated development entity will be finalised in coming months.  Adele then stepped the audience through the detail of the Townsville 2020 master plan, and provided an overview of the City Placemaker/Masterplanner role that Council has created. 

Following the presentation, Cr Les Walker, Deputy Mayor – Townsville City Council and Stephen Motti, Director- Brazier Motti and Chair of the Property Council’s Townsville Committee, joined Adele on stage for moderated panel discussion.  The implementation of the Townsville 2020 master plan and the long-term success of the City Deal were discussed.
