December’s Member News and Moves

WeWork joins the Property Council in WA and hosts a site tour, Lavan appoints a new property Special Counsel, while a prominent leasing and sales firm sees some big moves.

WeWork’s global expansion has continued in Perth, with the global shared workspace provider opening a second Perth location at William Square in Francis Street, Northbridge. On the back of their increased focus on the Perth market, WeWork has joined as a member the Property Council and recently hosted a site tour at their Central Park premises. Members enjoyed viewing the array of single desks and private offices that WeWork allows a collaborative culture and flexibility to grow. We welcome WeWork as a new Property Council member.

Local law firm Lavan has announced the appointment of Sean Macfarlane as a Special Counsel in their property services team. Sean joins Lavan after having significant responsibilities in the titles space, more recently as the lead advisor to the Minister for Lands during the introduction and passage of the Strata Titles Amendment Bill 2018 and the Community Titles Bill 2018.

Savills recently announced the appointment of David Evans as its new Director of Office Leasing in Perth, following a 28-year stint with rival JLL. While David Evans moves in at Savills, Future Directions Committee Member Lachlan Webster recently moved from Savills to a new role at Myaree based Castelli Group.
