DAP knockers risk local communities
News this week that 15 Perth councils have united to challenge independent development assessment panels is a major blow to the chances of local communities attracting the popular amenities that are now starting to appear across the metropolitan area.
It’s no coincidence that popular metropolitan hubs form like Guildford and the string of retail centre expansions have occurred since the creation of DAPs. If it wasn’t for DAPs many of these projects would be caught up in tribunals and courts, to the detriment of local communities and the state economy. This is the message that the Property Council has passed on to our policy makers in state Parliament, in the Save the DAP campaign.
