The Property Council welcomes the Queensland Premier’s announcement regarding the planned return to work and school on Monday 7 February 2022. Over the coming weeks, the Property Council’s priority will be working with public and private sector stakeholders to deliver a new CBD activation campaign to assist in fast tracking a widespread return to office.
Back to the office
People are encouraged to return to the office and CBD, noting the following mask mandates still apply:
• In workplaces (unless it is unsafe to do so)
• Pubs, clubs and cafes (except when seated)
• In supermarkets and shops
• Public transport and rideshare
• Airports and on planes
• Cinemas and theatres
• Indoor stadiums and sports arenas (except when seated)
• Libraries
• Hairdressers and nail salons
• Waiting rooms at a medical centre
Back to school
When school resumes on Monday 7 February the following measures will apply:
• Mask wearing for all high school students and staff in line with the existing mandate
• Masks available and strongly encouraged for students in Years 3 to 6
• Ventilation measures including air purifiers will be implemented
Temporary measures will be in place for the first four weeks of term, including RAT testing, limitations on visitors, suspension of camps, assemblies and excursions, and staggered drop off times.
Please check the Education Queensland website for more details.
The Property Council’s Queensland team is excited to be returning to the office on Monday 7 February. While a small number of events that were scheduled for early February will be delivered virtually, face-to-face events will kick off again on 2 March with the highly-anticipated Property Market Outlook lunch.
In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Queensland Advocacy Team via email or telephone (07 3225 3000) if you have any queries. While the Property Council will continue to update members on the evolving situation, we encourage members to please check the Queensland Health website as well.
