Council’s Mooloolaba vision inspires planning scheme amendment

A series of planning amendments to the Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme 2014 are being proposed following the adoption of the Place Making Mooloolaba Master Plan.
The proposed amendments include:

  • Building height increases
Reinstate building heights from the superseded Maroochy Plan 2000 to some areas located within the High density zone and Tourist accommodation zone.
  • Site cover/ podium height provisions – Brisbane Road Carpark
Amendments to site cover and podium heights are proposed for Council’s Brisbane Road Carpark site to provide integration of a multi storey public car park as part of the mixed use redevelopment of the site.
  • Height incentives
Height and site cover incentives are proposed to encourage delivery of a five-star international standard hotel.

Consultation on the proposed amendments will be open until 9 December 2016.
