Council Elections looming

Local democracy is an important feature of life in Australia, and councils have a far greater influence on communities than most people appreciate.

If you own a property in the City of Adelaide, have enrolled as a business occupier of a property in the City for inclusion in Council’s supplementary roll, or if you are on the state (House of Assembly) electoral roll as a resident, you will receive a voting pack in the mail in the week beginning 22 October 2018.

Voting in council elections is done by post, so it’s really easy. All you have to do is complete your ballot papers and return them in the reply-paid envelope provided. Most people will receive 3 ballot papers in their packs, one will show the candidates standing for the position of Lord Mayor, one showing the candidates for Area Councillor, and one showing the candidates standing for election in your council ward. To find out more about each of the candidates and what they stand for go to www.cityofadelaide/elections, then complete your ballot papers and declaration envelope, and return it in the reply-paid envelope.

Votes must be received before 5pm Friday 9 November 2018.

Get involved and make a difference.

Keep an eye out for your voting pack in the post and make a difference by participating in your council election.
