Commissioners to run City of Perth welcomed

The Property Council welcomes the three Commissioners appointed to perform the functions of the suspended councillors at the City of Perth.

“The Property Council looks forward to working with the Commissioners to continue important strategic work at the City of Perth, including the completion of the new Planning Strategy for the City and city activation strategies”, said Property Council WA Executive Director, Lino Iacomella.

“The Property Council recognises that the State Government needed to step in and take strong action to ensure confidence in the City of Perth was restored.

“It is unfortunate that the council itself was not able to ensure continuing stability at the City of Perth.

 “The Perth city centre, including the CBD is set to play a key role in WA’s economic revival through private investment in major projects and an improvement in retail activity, however it is crucial that that there is stability, clear vision and strong leadership from the City of Perth.

“The property industry looks forward to the completion of the inquiries into the City and the re-establishment of a fully functioning City of Perth Council”, said Mr Iacomella.
