Combustible cladding Audit Taskforce Status Report released
The Queensland Government has released the Audit Taskforce status report into combustible cladding. The report provides an update on the work of the taskforce to investigate and audit the extent of the problem and provides recommendations on a path forward.
The Property Council welcomed the release of the first status report and outlined support for further industry and government collaboration to address this critical issue.
“Private property owners are taking this issue very seriously, and many have already carried out or are in the process of conducting audits themselves,” Chris Mountford, Queensland Executive Director of the Property Council outlined.
“We continue to support the Government’s sensible and systematic approach to identifying and addressing any risk associated with combustible cladding in Queensland.”
“The Property Council strongly supported the legislative changes made by the Queensland Government in 2017 to address the issue of non-conforming building products being installed in new buildings.”
