Colonnades welcomes Harris Scarfe in retail expansion

Federation Centres Colonnades Shopping Centre located in Noarlunga South Australia comprises over 200 speciality stores along with 5 major retailers. In fulfilling the requirements of a potential 6th major retailer, Federation Centres have embarked upon a project to expand and modify part of the centre. The project sees an amalgamation of 4 tenancies along with additions to the existing building to provide approximately 2,000m² of lettable space to Harris Scarfe.

APP has been engaged as Project Manager to provide complete project management services, including design, procurement and contract administration. In undertaking this role we have been responsible for preparation of the project programme and daily liaison with project sub-consultants including architects and engineers, to monitor delivery of the design documentation and statutory approvals. In addition we have managed the procurement and construction process on behalf of Federation Centres, including preparation of the Tender Package, subsequent interview of shortlisted tenderers, recommendation for engagement and contract administration during the construction process.

The project offers some unique challenges, including delivery of the construction within a compressed time frame and in accordance with the specific requirements of Harris Scarfe. APP has coordinated a rigorous review of the future fitout documentation and current tenant specifications to ensure all requirements are addressed.

Practical completion was successfully achieved 13 August 2014 as planned, and fit-out of the tenancy is now well underway by Harris Scarfe.
