City of Perth To Be Energy Resilient

The City of Perth has rolled out its new initiative, ‘Towards an Energy Resilient City’.

The initiative is designed for the future-proofing of the city against climate change and to address the impacts of rising energy demand.

Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi says she is positive that the City can take a lead role in guiding the city to be more energy resilient.

“We recognise that as the city is growing, there are increased demands on energy and opportunities to explore innovative and alternative methods for how energy can be delivered cost-effectively to meet the city’s future energy needs.”

“In taking a leadership role to reduce our energy consumption, become more sustainable and use renewable energy where possible, the City of Perth encourages residents and businesses to take their own action to lower greenhouse gas emissions,” said Ms. Scaffidi.
