City of Perth and MRA sign MOUThe City of Perth and the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to guide co-operation and planning for areas of the city being redeveloped by the Authority.”Under the terms of the MOU, the parties agree to consult on relevant matters relating to the project areas and will make every effort to ensure that consultation occurs in a timely and coordinated manner through the planning, approvals, design development, construction and handover process when the works are completed,” the Lord Mayor said.MRA Chairman Richard Muirhead said “The MRA and the City are working together to deliver a shared vision for Perth which will return the city’s focus to the river, help reconnect the CBD and Northbridge and create authentic and lively places for the community and visitors to our city to enjoy.”Property Council of Australia Executive Director Joe Lenzo said “Perth is undergoing a period of unprecedented growth and transformation. Coordination between the two lead agencies in this process, the City of Perth and the MRA is crucial for the development and growth of our capital. Together they will ensure that Perth’s unique character is not only retained, but enhanced, delivering the best built environment for the city.”
