Chat with a Chair:

Kim Gregory – Commercial Office Committee chair

What was your first role within the property industry and what roles have you had since?

I first worked as a Property Manager with AMP Capital in Melbourne.  I held various commercial and retail roles with AMP over 12 years, with a final role as an asset manager in Sydney.   I’ve continued to work in asset, portfolio and funds management with Principal Global Investors, Multiplex Capital, Brookfield and since 2011 at Investa.

What is your current role and what does it involve?

My current role at Investa is Fund Manager Mandates, which involves managing our domestic and off-shore private client investment mandates to ensure their performance hurdles and objectives are achieved.

What is the biggest issue facing the property industry in NSW currently?

I believe the on-going, timely delivery of well-planned infrastructure across the state, is critical to deliver economic and social benefits to all.

What are the key priorities for the Commercial Office Committee in 2017/18?

  1. Explore further work and research on commercial development in emerging centres.

  2. Connect with the Start-up and new economy markets.

  3. Explore further involvement with the Office Market Report

  4. Continue to review emerging issues.

If you weren’t working in property, where could you see yourself working?

So many possible options – Design, Food and Wine, Music, Veterinary, Environmental Science!   My enrolment in a property degree at RMIT was a reasonably random decision.
