CAN YOU HELP PIF BUILD HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS?

On any given night in Australia, 116,427 people are experiencing homelessness, and 27,680 of those affected are young Australians aged 12-24 years.

Poverty, domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, unemployment, and mental illness are just some of the catalysts that can lead to a child experiencing homelessness – whatever the circumstances, it’s vital we offer more support to those affected

The property industry is made up of a talented group of professionals with so many different valuable skills, so let’s pull together and do our bit to change these alarming statistics and help get our children off the streets.

PIF’S PLANS

The PIF team are in the final planning stage for their newest project.

The PIF House project will be the refurbishment of the existing 3-bedroom house on the property, as well as the construction of 3 x 1 bedroom apartments and 3 x 2 bedroom apartments – a total of 12 more bedrooms to add to the housing opportunities currently on offer for homeless young people.

With a build cost of $2.45 million and the January 2020 construction date fast approaching, PIF are putting the call out to the industry to donate whatever resources or services they can.

PIF are desperately seeking the supply of building items, including:

  • Appliances supply
  • Carpet supply
  • Ceramic tiles supply
  • Door hardware supply
  • Doors and frames supply
  • External works
  • Flashing, gutters, downpipes supply
  • Glazed windows & doors supply
  • Insultation supply
  • Joinery cabinetry supply
  • Light & fan fixtures supply
  • Masonry block supply
  • Planting supply
  • Plumbing fixtures supply
  • Reinforcing steel supply
  • Roof sheeting supply
  • Scaffolding for Project
  • Shower screen supply
  • Structural steel supply
  • Timber wall & floor framing supply
  • Vinyl supply
  • Wall & ceiling linings supply
  • Washroom accessories supply

For many of us in Australia, our home is where our heart is – but those suffering from homelessness are struggling to find a reliable place where they can experience the same safety and comfort we all take for granted.

The property industry is equipped with all the necessary tools to help make a tangible difference in the lives of homeless youths, so we invite you to be part of this industry drive to make a difference by donating supplies, contributing funds or offering your own time.
