Call for EOIs for Townsville Stadium

The Queensland Government has called for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for principal consultants to put forward design teams for the new Townsville Stadium project.

As part of its objective to revitalise the Townsville CBD through the Waterfront Priority Development Area, the Property Council has strongly supported the development of the North Queensland Stadium. 

The stadium project has been able to proceed to a design tender stage following an election commitment from the Turnbull Government of $100 million. This contribution follows the State Government’s commitment of $140 million towards the project and the NRL’s commitment of $10 million. Townsville City Council have contributed to the project by purchasing the site.

Information on the EOI process can be accessed from the QTenders website. Following the initial EOIs, due on 19 September, a shortlist of consortia will be invited to submit designs.

The project is expected to begin in mid-2017 and be completed by 2020.
