Caddy appointment as WA Planning Commission Chairperson Welcomed

The Property Council welcomes the appointment of David Caddy to the role of Chairperson of the WA Planning Commission.

“David Caddy is an excellent choice to lead the WAPC and the modernisation of WA’s planning system”, said Lino Iacomella, WA Executive Director of the Property Council of Australia.

“Mr Caddy is a very respected planner and strategic advisor in WA’s property industry.  He understands business and has a good feel for what the community expects from well planned and delivered property developments.

“Mr Caddy has strong industry connections, including his role as Chairperson of the Property Council’s Planning Committee.

“The Property Council congratulates Mr Caddy and we look forward to working with him in achieving the state’s objectives of reforming the land planning system and better integration of land use planning with infrastructure decisions.

“Priority reforms that we hope to progress with Mr Caddy, include uniform local planning regulations in metropolitan Perth and regional centres and the formation of Infrastructure WA.

“The Property Council also thanks out-going WA Planning Commission Chairperson, Eric Lumsden.

“Mr Lumsden successfully guided the state’s planning system during the mining boom when housing demand soared and then the post-boom era as industry re-adjusted to new economic settings”, said Mr Iacomella.
