Buyers seek sanctuary in Sydney
More than half of the first stage of Sekisui House’s new developmentat Sydney’s Wentworth Point, The Landing, has been sold before the official launch as buyers snap up a piece of affordable luxury.
The Landing is the first phase of the six stage, $1.9 billion Sanctuary development which will deliver 2,300 apartments across 20 buildings.
Sekisui House purchased the site, 16 kilometres from the CBD, in 2016 for $360 million from the NSW Roads and Maritime Services.
Sanctuary is close to Parramatta, Rhodes, Sydney Olympic Park and the proposed light rail.
The Landing comprises 364 one-, two- and three-bedroom luxury apartments, 16 terraced family homes and 12 two-storeymaisonettes.
Sekisui House says many of the buyers are nearby residents. Investors form the largest single group of buyers, followed by people who plan to move in once the project is completed – including first home buyers.
Each apartment features a northerly aspect and was designed tocapitalise on the outlook where the river, wetlands and parklands meet.
A disused wharf will become a riverside pavilion, Sanctuary Water House, and will be available for community activities. The Origin Trail will hug the river front, wetlands and parklands. And Sanctuary’s Sharing Shed will bring together like-minded people to create and interact.
“A connection between nature and the community is vital and we apply this thinking in every development we design,” says, Paul Wainwright Sekisui House sales and marketing operations manager.
“We are confident that Sanctuary’s Landing will benchmark the standards of quality in public and private spaces.”
