Business in the Burbs

The Property Council hosted a Business in the Burbs breakfast event at the Grove which examined the growth of suburban office markets.

Attendees heard from keynote speaker Ross Elliot – Regional General Manager Qld, APP and Director Suburban Alliance, Lisa Timoney – Senor Development Manager Sekisui House, Todd Pepper – Executive Director Alceon. The panel discussion was moderated by Leigh Warner Senior Director – Research JLL.

Together the panel looked at how COVID had sped up the trend of companies looking to more suburban locations. Amenity, car parking, access to public transport and collaborative spaces were the key considerations for companies looking to move into offices outside the CBD.

The panel were in agreeance that while some companies were suited by suburban offices there was still a significant appetite for CBD office space and often the two can be used in conjunction by companies who were seeking both amenity but also a central location.
