Building Queensland releases first Infrastructure Pipeline ReportBuilding Queensland, the State Government’s new independent infrastructure advisory body, has released its inaugural Infrastructure Pipeline Report outlining its assessment of Queensland’s infrastructure priorities.The priority pipeline, which will inform the Government’s investment decisions, contains 16 project proposals including 4 that are ready for investment consideration:Cross River RailEuropean Train Control SystemCunningham Highway”Yamanto Interchange to Ebenezer CreekPacific Motorway”Mudgeeraba to Varsity Lakes.Building Queensland has reaffirmed Cross River Rail as the state’s top infrastructure priority. In response to the pipeline report, the Queensland Government has committed $800 million -contingent on support from other levels of government – towards projects and initiatives aimed at getting the project ready for commencement.The Property Council has welcomed this initial funding commitment but cautioned that potential ‘value capture’ activities being considered will not bridge the funding gap required to make the project a reality.
