Brisbane’s Global Precincts

In conjunction with Brisbane Marketing, Lord Mayor Graham Quirk this week released a new strategy identifying eight major precincts within Brisbane that are central to delivering on the city’s vision of a New World City.

Selected for their ranking on a number of criteria (such as trade, networks and exposure), the eight precincts identified within Brisbane’s Global Precincts, are:

  • Boggo Road/PA/UQ
  • Herston/Kelvin Grove
  • Upper Mt Gravatt/Eight Mile Plains
  • City Reach
  • City West
  • South Brisbane and Kurilpa
  • Australia TradeCoast
  • Valley Gateway

Through focusing interest in the precincts that deliver the greatest return to the city in terms of employment, Gross Regional Product and exports, it is anticipated that the strategy will add long-term value to Brisbane through delivery of a coordinated series of city networks, increased investment appeal and greater international recognition of Brisbane’s industry expertise.

Brisbane’s Global Precincts builds on the priorities identified in the Brisbane 2022 New World City Action Plan.
