Brisbane Metro consultation

The Brisbane City Council is running a series of community information sessions on their Brisbane Metro project, following the completion of technical assessments.

The proposal, for a high frequency, rapid transport connection, is aimed at reducing CBD bus congestion and enabling more suburban bus services. A fleet of rubber-tyred Metro vehicles with capacity of 1 people will be commissioned to run on the service.

A newly proposed Brisbane Metro route will use existing busway infrastructure and run over 21 kilometres from Eight Mile Plains to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and out to University of Queensland Lakes.

Updates on the project can be received by registering your interest on the Brisbane City Council website.
