Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Annual Address
Over 3 people attended the Property Council’s Queensland Lunch: Lord Mayor Annual Address, to hear directly from Brisbane’s newly elected Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner.
At his first industry address since the election, the Lord Mayor spoke to his plans to create a clean, green Brisbane through the addition of five new pedestrian bridges and the preservation of green recreational space, including the repurposing of Victoria Park, that had been announced earlier in the week.
The Lord Mayor also spoke to the ongoing development of the Brisbane Metro, which will see two metro lines installed from the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital to the University of Queensland; and Eight Mile Plains to Roma Street. During his speech, the Lord Mayor referenced funding from the Federal Government for a business case, which will provide the Metro with the potential to expand further north.
The Lord Mayor spoke to the benefits of urban renewal and the establishment of the Suburban Renewal Taskforce, which will help to facilitate development within Brisbane’s suburbs.
The Property Council would like to thank the Lord Mayor for speaking at the event. Thank you also to our Major Sponsor, Multiplex and Supporting Sponsor, Ray White.
