Brisbane City Council consultations

Brisbane City Council is seeking industry and community feedback on four separate strategy documents which will inform amendments to the Brisbane City Plan 2014.

Draft Brisbane Industrial Strategy
Proposed strategies contained within this draft document aim to meet future industrial demand in Brisbane. The draft strategy has a particular focus on the protection of existing industrial land while enabling flexibility for temporary uses and adaption to global change.

Kangaroo Point Peninsula draft renewal strategy
The draft Kangaroo Point strategy contains provisions aimed at improving amenity within the suburb as well as  improving connections between the peninsula, and the CBD and surrounding suburbs. Proposals include the revitalisation of Main Street into a dining and retail precinct, protecting views to and from the Story Bridge and reviewing building heights and encouraging well-designed development.

Banyo-Northgate draft renewal strategy
This draft strategy covers parts of Nudgee, Nundah, Virginia and Hendra and aims to balance the future growth of residential and industrial land uses. The protection of the local environment and character housing is also a central theme of the draft strategy.

The Gap draft renewal strategy
The Gap’s draft renewal strategy is built around four key themes: housing for all, green and leafy spaces, centres for village life and community connections.

Public submissions on all these draft strategies must be made by 8 December 2017.
