BCC Draft LGIP endorsed

Brisbane City Council has endorsed its Draft Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) ahead of public consultation in 2017.

The draft LGIP that will be sent to the Queensland Government to be reviewed, replaces the current Priority Infrastructure Plan (PIP), and allows Council to continue:

  • levying infrastructure charges for approved new developments
  • determining infrastructure offsets and refunds
  • setting trunk infrastructure conditions on development approvals

Importantly, the draft LGIP has undergone an independent third party review, a requirement included in the Sustainable Planning Act as a result of the Property Council’s advocacy efforts.
