BCC commits to extend seniors’ incentives
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has confirmed that Brisbane City Council’s Retirement and Aged Care Incentives package will be extended until 31 December 2020.
The decision follows advocacy from the Property Council to extend the program beyond the original 31 December 2019 end date.
The incentives reduce the cost of infrastructure charges levied on qualifying aged care and retirement facility developments, and form part of a broader strategy to encourage the delivery of purpose-built seniors’ accommodation throughout the city.
For applicants who propose to locate retirement or aged care facilities within the Sports and Recreation zone, Council will continue to assess each application on its merit.
The Lord Mayor will provide his first address to the Property Council at a lunch event on Friday, 14 June.
