Badgerys Creek consultation underwayBadgerys Creek airport is a step closer to becoming a reality. Formal consultation between the Australian Government and Sydney Airport Corporation on developing a proposal commenced at the start of this month. Sydney Airport Corporation maintains the first right of refusal to build and operate a second airport in Sydney. Options for Badgerys Creek will be explored over the next nine months – and this will cover not only Sydney Airport Corporation but also airlines, a range of airport operators and industry counterparts. At the same time, the delivery of the $3.6 billion Western Sydney Roads Package is underway, and will include plans for transportation and traffic systems. The Property Council cautions it is crucial that the Australian Government’s infrastructure roll out is integrated with a State structure plan for Broader Western Sydney (currently pending finalisation).
