August Business Lunch with Minister Rau and Riverbank Precinct panel

Almost 300 people packed out the Adelaide Festival Centre on 28 August for the Property Council’s August Business lunch featuring the Honourable John Rau MP, Deputy Premier. Minister Rau talked about the upcoming planning reforms with questions from the floor focussing on the role of local government and the need for consistency across municipalities.

Following Minister Rau’s address, SA Executive Director Daniel Gannon moderated a panel discussion focussed on the Riverbank Precinct. Renewal SA’s Chief Executive John Hanlon told those in attendance that residential development must be part of the Precinct’s plan, including on the oRAH site. Chairman of the Riverbank Authority, Andrew McEvoy, questioned why residential development in the parklands was a ‘sacred cow’ that couldn’t be discussed and called for conversations to take place.

The event would not have been possible without the support of event partners Rider Levett Bucknall and Renewal SA, and our wider corporate partners and supporters. Photos from the event can be found on our Flickr page
