APP’s commitment to embracing diversity, inclusion and flexibility in the workplace

As a long-term organisation within the property and infrastructure industry, APP recognises that Diversity & Inclusion (D&I), as well as a shift to a more flexible working environment, are integral to creating a collaborative workplace culture, competitive advantage in a global environment and ultimately, for sustainable business success.

APP launched their new flexibility policy this year as part of their commitment to a more diverse, inclusive and flexible working environment. The new policy aims to support their staff to better manage and balance their work, life and family needs by enabling a variety of flexible working arrangements.

For APP, flexibility has extended beyond employees working part time or altering their hours to fit in with personal commitments. They recognise that each individual’s needs are different, and their new policy provides for a multitude of options, that balance both the needs of the individual and the business, such as a 9 day fortnight, and working from home, remotely or interstate for example.

To educate APP staff on the new policy and the benefits these options can have on their wellbeing, CEO Adam Castro visited each branch around the country to engage with staff and inform them of the new policy.

In addition, APP has a team of dedicated D&I champions who lead the wider business to meet the company’s progressive objectives on diversity and inclusion, and ensure that every employee has a voice and is heard.
