And the winner is

A record crowd of over 480 people were on hand at Brisbane City Hall last Friday night to see South Bank Precinct take out the Queensland Retail Property of the Year Award for the second year in a row, narrowly edging out Indooroopilly Shopping Centre.

The Property Council’s Retail Property of the Year Awards acknowledges the best in retail property and precincts and celebrates the contribution of the industry to the broader community.

This year a record 71 finalists were recognised across four award categories. The winners from the night were:

Excellence in Design Awards

• Neighbourhood and Strip Centres: Brisbane Airport International Terminal
• Sub Regional Centres: Everton Park Retail and Home Improvement Centre
• Regional Centres: Stockland Hervey Bay
• Major Regional Centres: Indooroopilly Shopping Centre

Excellence in Marketing Awards

• Neighbourhood and Strip Centres: South Bank Precinct – ‘eatSouthBank’
• Sub Regional Centres: Taigum Square – 100th Anniversary of Gallipoli Landings
• Regional Centres: Sunnybank Plaza- $2 Food Trail
• Judge’s Commendation: Capalaba Park Shopping Centre – Park Points Reward Program
• Major Regional Centres: Westfield Chermside – Food Van Jam
