An update from the Lord Mayor – December 2017

Prior to the silly season taking full effect, the City of Adelaide has made a number of sensible and strategic decisions which will further ensure Adelaide is an incredibly liveable and commercially competitive city.

On Wednesday 6 of December, I announced that TPG Telecom Limited will partner with the City of Adelaide to roll out the Ten Gigabit Adelaide network early next year.

This is the most exciting and transformational project that has been announced by the City of Adelaide in decades and will assist with industry attraction, business growth and addressing building vacancy rates. I invite you to read more about Ten Gigabit Adelaide here

I thank Property Council SA Director Daniel Gannon for his consistent advocacy on the project as well as his attendance at the launch. Colliers International’s Craig Shute also receives our thanks for hosting the announcement and for being a huge supporter of Ten Gigabit Adelaide as well.

This project will have a resounding impact on the property industry and I encourage you to contact our Associate Director Information Management, Peter Auhl, ([email protected]) for more information.

Another development which occurred in November was Council’s endorsement of a North Terrace West Concept Design Brief. This will consider the streetscape between King William Street and West Terrace, complementing the high quality standard of the eastern boulevard while better facilitating access to the Riverbank and the biomedical precinct. I look forward to sharing further consultation and news on this plan in due course.

As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected].

I wish you all a safe and merry Christmas and look forward to working with you during a productive 2018.
