Amendments to Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme

Sunshine Coast Council has made an amendment to the Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme 2014, relating to the Mooloolaba Masterplan and Key Site Review.

The Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme 2014 (Major Amendment) No. 10, which took effect on 31 July 2017, amends the ‘Height of buildings and structures’ overlay for a number of specific sites within the Mooloolaba/Alexandra Headland local plan area and provides a number of incentives to attract a five-star international standard hotel.

The Property Council has strongly advocated for the Sunshine Coast Council to ensure the planning scheme has the flexibility to create feasible development outcomes which would enable the industry to deliver these types of projects.
