AECOM Gears up in Adelaide

In response to a number of transformative city shaping transport infrastructure and precinct development opportunities, integrated infrastructure firm AECOM, has expanded its South Australian team through the appointment of Leigh Dalwood.

After 18 years’ with the South Australian Government as a transport planning specialist Mr Dalwood brings extensive knowledge and experience in strategic transport planning, concept planning and design, business case development and community engagement.

AECOM Technical Director, Brenton Burman, who leads AECOM’s South Australian Transport Planning & Urban Development practice said: “We are delighted Leigh shared our view that AECOM was the best place to leverage his considerable experience and ability to influence and lead some of Adelaide’s most important projects.”

“Across Adelaide there are a number of projects requiring the type of integrated transport, infrastructure and urban design solutions that Leigh is well regarded for. The Royal Adelaide Hospital precinct, Port Adelaide redevelopment and the North-South Corridor are just three that have the potential to be catalysts for the next -100 years of growth.”

Mr Dalwood joins AECOM as an associate director, previously he was Manager, Programs and Concept Planning within the South Australian Government Department for Planning, Transport and Infrastructure, where he was responsible for all state and commonwealth funded transport programs.

Mr Dalwood led South Australia’s largest transport planning study, the North-South Corridor Planning Study, leading to over $2 billion of funding commitments to projects along the corridor and a strategy to deliver the Corridor within 10 years. Leigh studied at UniSA where he completed his Bachelor in Civil Engineering.
