Achieving best practice engagement
The Property Council is pleased to provide a professional development opportunity for property industry participants keen to improve the way their organisation interacts with the community.
The one-day Property Engagement Essentials Workshop, to be held on 9 Feb, will provide participants with the tools and knowledge to plan, design and implement best practice stakeholder and community engagement processes.
The workshop is a pre-requisite course for the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Certificate of Engagement accreditation. Many local governments are now expecting developers- as well as and their own staff- to address IAP2’s core values of public participation.
Articulous Communications directors Amanda Newbery and Nathan Williams will deliver the workshop covering:
- The purpose of and triggers for engagement
- Best practice community engagement, including the key components of mapping engagement, the roles and responsibilities of your organisation, the community and stakeholders
- Analysing the community and stakeholder factors that shape engagement
- Identifying the outcomes you want from engagement
- Broadening your existing communications skills
- Utilising emerging engagement trends.
The content of the workshop will be targeted to the unique engagement challenges facing the property industry. The Property Council encourages professionals performing the following industry functions to register for this important professional development opportunity:
- Government and private sector planners
- Communications professionals
- Development managers
- Project directors
- Advisors and consultants
- Those in the property industry who interact with the community as part of their role.
