Accelerated Builder/Consumer Dispute (ABCD) goes live

COVID-19 has put pressure on construction materials resulting in prices increasing dramatically, especially as supply chains continue to be disrupted and there is a boom in residential construction across Queensland. These factors have caused significant delays for our members, who are also having to pass on heightened costs to their customers, due to the lack of trade supplies and specialist tradespeople being available.

The Queensland Government has responded to this issue by launching the Accelerated Builder/Consumer Dispute (ABCD) which can be used by individuals and builders, who have been unable to reach resolution on pricing through other channels. Our members who are QBCC members, affected by supply or trade shortages and have entered into a residential contract over $1,000, are eligible to use this framework to resolve disputes with their customers.
