In 2021 Fish Lane Town Square won the Excellence in Development >12,000sqm Award at the Property Council of Australia’s Queensland Retail Property of the Year Awards 2021.
Fish Lane is an iconic Brisbane landmark that has had many lives as it hugs Brisbane’s city centre.
The new addition of Fish Lane Town Square represents a verdant addition and stellar example of what urban-regeneration via retail precincts can truly represent.
The team at Aria Property Group have delivered a subtropical rainforest in the heart of Brisbane, including over 3,0 plants to create a lush and attractive space for the restaurants and businesses that call Fish Lane home.
Winning the Excellence in Development Award >12,000sqm was a worthy accolade for a retail development that is breathtakingly aesthetic, thoughtfully designed and highly sustainable. .
Giving retail developments like Fish Lane Town Square the recognition that they deserve is the core purpose of the Queensland Retail Property of the Year Awards and acts as a platform for winners to continue building the profile around their world-class properties.
We spoke with Aria Property Group’s Michael Zaicek on what winning has done for Fish Lane Town Square.
Mr Zaicek was positive about the platform that the award offers winners and the continued support being received a year on from winning the award.
“The Property Council of Australia is held in high regard throughout the property sector.” he said.
“Acknowledgement in this forum represents validation of our work and helps us promote the precinct, grow awareness and drive traffic.
“Winning the Property Council’s retail award acts as positive reinforcement for the project, which ultimately increases interest and traffic.
“Since winning the award all venues have reported strong and continual trade.” added Mr Zaicek.
There are positive implications from winning an award, there is the immediate attention that winning an award draws to a property, precinct or development.
But these developments and precincts are nothing without a dedicated and talented team to deliver them.
Mr Zaicek pointed out the effect that winning this award has had on the team at Aria Property Group.
“It’s a great reward for the project team to receive peer recognition, particularly from well-regarded industry groups like the Property Council.
“An incredible amount of recognition goes into a development like Town Square and recognition of a job well done boosts everyone’s confidence and resolve.
“We are constantly asking our design and construction teams to be innovative and pursue excellence. An award from the Property Council reminds us that we are heading in the right direction.” said Mr Zaicek.
