A thousand times the fun at our 2018 Christmas Lunch

The Property Council WA division held its annual Christmas Lunch at Crown Perth last week, with a record crowd of 1,013 property industry professionals joining the celebrations.

ABC’s Di Darmody kept the crowd entertained as emcee while Ray Haeren roved the crowd, interviewing unsuspecting members throughout the afternoon.

Disability Support Award nominee and Artist Jacob Butler (Shakey) worked his magic onstage painting an incredible portrait of Perth City and the Swan River to support Property Council’s fundraiser for Mission Australia.

Guests were able to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win one of three donated prizes in support of Mission Australia’s Christmas Lunch in the Park. This alone raised an incredible $22,000 which was added to the $4,0 donated by corporate partners prior to the event by Iris Residential, Edge Visionary Living, Multiplex and AMP Capital.

The artwork being painted live by Shakey was auctioned off to the highest bidder Grant Davey, Owner of Matador Capital Pty Ltd, fetching $4,000 – per cent of which was donated to Mission Australia.

This brought the total raised on the day to over $28,0. These funds will contribute directly towards providing lunch to over 1,200 people in Perth who are experiencing homelessness or disadvantage on Christmas day.

The highlight of the day was having comedian Jimeoin take the stage, who managed to have the crowd in stitches within the first 20 seconds, with a few jokes up his sleeve reflecting on his building and construction roots.

A special thank you to Kate Bennell, a proud descendant of the Whadjuck/Barlardong Noongar people for providing the welcome to country and to all of the Christmas Lunch guests for supporting Property Council in making this such a fantastic event – and helping raise some much-needed funds for Mission Australia.
