A new brand and new home for FMG Engineering

Leading engineering consulting firm FMG Engineering has given its brand a striking makeover and has also left its home of 31 years in Norwood for a larger, more modern head-office premises on Greenhill Road, south of the city.

The mid-sized engineering firm, which services the development, property and urban infrastructure sectors, has over 45 years in business and is known for its contribution to many significant developments across SA and Victoria including recent large-scale initiatives such as the
Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Torrens to Torrens project. The company employs over 170 staff comprising engineers, scientists, technicians, and support staff and as CEO Matthew Loftes explains, it had outgrown its Fullarton Road site and required new premises that could accommodate expected future company growth.

“The South Australian economy has for some time shown very steady growth but we expect a sharper growth curve over the next couple of years and all indications are that our business can expect to grow along with it,” explained Mr Loftes.

“The State is poised to benefit from substantial investment in Defence, Education and Infrastructure as well as an evolution in the housing and community landscape”, he added.

“There is a lot of positive talk about investment in Adelaide along with the need for stronger population growth and this will undoubtedly lead to opportunities in our industry. We want to be ready for that,” added Mr Loftes.

“Our new home on Greenhill Road will not only accommodate growth, but is laid out in a contemporary way that is more conducive to collaboration between our various specialist consulting teams.”

“Featuring highly ergonomic automatic sit-stand desks throughout and including a best in class refresh of our I.T Infrastructure and fibre connectivity, this will allow us the flexibility and capacity to scale and adapt to the needs of tomorrow”, explained Mr Loftes.

The company’s bolder and more striking new logo is a significant departure from its previous logo which, though innovative for its time, needed a contemporary shift.

“We believe our new brand is a better reflection of our energy and standing as an industry leader but it also unifies the various arms of our business at a local and national level,” added Mr Loftes. FMG’s Industry leading Soils Laboratory, Research House, which has delivered a wide range of testing services to the building, construction and earth moving industries for over years, will be also rebranded FMG Research.

“The Research arm of our business is unique and differentiates us from competitors,” explained Mr Loftes.

Other iconic projects that FMG Engineering has worked on recently include:

  • ALDI Distribution Centre
  • Haighs Chocolate Factory Expansion
  • King William Road Upgrade
  • Murray Bridge Racecourse Development
  • Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty Walking Trail
