A message from SA President Steve Maras

A message from SA President Steve MarasIt is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I share with members the passing last week of our good friend and Division Councillor, Rocco Caruso.Rocco, who was farewelled by hundreds of family, friends and colleagues on Tuesday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic church in Prospect, was a Partner at Piper Alderman Lawyers in the property division. He was a highly respected and very well liked legal practitioner, having looked after a broad range of clients over several years including a number of South Australia’s largest private and family property groups. Much loved by those who knew him, Rocco went about his business in such a professional, yet no-fuss manner, always looking to deliver the best outcomes for his clients. He was meticulous in his preparation, comprehensive in his advice and always commercial in his approach. Rocco served on the Property Council’s Division Council since March 2013 and was a valued contributor along the journey. He was very passionate about improving the property industry and being part of a close-knit team intent on making a real difference here in South Australia. Importantly, he was a terrific and completely devoted family man who did absolutely everything for his family and those closest to him. On behalf of the Property Council, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to Rocco’s wife Maria, his three beautiful children, Adriana, Charlie and Franco, the Caruso and Di Fava families, and to his many friends, clients and work colleagues. I would also like to extend a special thank you to Piper Alderman Managing Partner, Tony Britten-Jones, for the support extended to Rocco and his family during these difficult days. Additionally, I would like to extend our warmest condolences to the entire Piper Alderman family. Rocco will remain in our hearts forever, for he was truly one of a kind.
