A global Sydney needs world class infrastructure
The release this month of preliminary plans to develop new hotels, offices and homes above new metro stations shows Sydney is well on its way to be a global city on par with London and New York.
Projects in our city centre as well in our city’s north provide the opportunity to truly integrate the new metro system with new land development and create great places for the community and the Property Council’s members are in a good position to deliver this development.
Overseas examples such as Hudson Yards in New York or Crossrail in London shows what can be done using cutting edge design and there is no reason Sydney cannot achieve similar levels of excellence.
Integrating a world class transit experience with an innovative built environment is something we have not seen in Australia and Sydney has the opportunity the lead the nation.
With a growing population and more demands placed on transport and our built environment it’s important that we create great developments that use our available space well and provide for the community.
