The NSW Government has recently announced the Port Kembla Community Investment Fund which will provide $1 million of funding per year for the next 99 years for projects that reactive, enhance or build community amenity in the suburb of Port Kembla. The money for the fund has been released from the long-term lease of the Port of Port Kembla, and projects must be within the suburb precinct.

Funding of between $10,000 – $,000 is available for eligible projects. Applications for the first round need to be submitted by 31 May 2016.

Eligible projects will deliver capital expenditure in one of the following categories:

  • Environmental such as pollution control, clean up works, land remediation
  • Public domain such as parks, pathways/cycleways, community or tourism facilities
  • Community infrastructure such as boat ramps, services, access
