0 Women in Property: Your career doesn’t have to be linear to be successful
Your career doesn’t have to follow a linear path to be successful, said Rachel Hunter, Director General of DSDMIP at the Queensland 0 Women in Property wrap up event.
Participants and sponsors in the Property Council’s 2019 program were invited to a special program wrap-up event held recently.
At the event, guests had the opportunity to network with other participants and sponsors of the 0 Women in Property program and share their take-outs from the year’s activities.
Guests heard from Rachel Hunter, Director General of the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning. Rachel gave an inspiring speech covering her career journey and shared some of the formative hurdles she overcame along the way.
Rachel told attendees that a career path doesn’t have to be linear in order to be successful, a career journey will take many twists and turns, and it is okay to take a ‘demotion’ to get to where you want to be.
Attendees also heard from Kristan Conlon, Partner- McCullough Robertson and Chair of the Queensland Diversity Committee, who provided an overview of the program’s highlights over the course of the year.
The Property Council and Queensland Diversity Committee are now working on building a fantastic program for 2020. If you have feedback on the program you would like to provide to Property Council, please get in touch with Rachael Champtaloup.
Special thanks to Rachel Hunter for speaking at our event, and to all of our Diversity Committee members who make it an absolute pleasure to roll out these great initiatives.
Thank you to our generous national program sponsor, GPT.
